Abstract

810,104. Carrying handles for convector heaters. PARKINSON COWAN Ltd., [formerly PARKINSON & COWAN Ltd.]. Aug. 2, 1957 [May 5, 1956], No. 13990/56. Class 52(1) The top wall of an oil-burning convector heater has a carrying handle mounted on a stem slidable in the top wall so that, in the out of use position. the handle lies on the top wall but, for carrying, it can be pulled up to give finger clearance between the handle and wall. As shown, handle 2 is moulded on to two threaded studs 6 to which are screwed spindles 4 surrounded by plastic coverings 7. The spindles are received in holes 8 in top wall 1 and are connected within the heater by a stout wire 10 which prevents removal of the handle and unscrewing of the spindles from the studs. Alternatively the stems may comprise bolts the heads or nuts of which retain them on the heater. In a modification the handle may be mounted on a single stem, the stem and the hole in the top wall being non-circular to prevent roatation.
