Abstract
809,783. Supporting pottery during firing. ACME MARLS Ltd., and LOVATT, J. W. A. May 22, 1956 [April 19, 1955], No. 11211/55. Class 87(1). A pottery firing support comprises a base 10 with a pair of pillars 13 at each end, a bar 14 extending across the upper ends of each pair of pillars, and one or more pincarrying members 15 supported by the bars 14. The base has one or more longitudinal grooves 11 to receive saddles for supporting plates &c. Further grooves may be provided adjacent the edges of the base for receiving side and end walls which may engage also in grooves 23 in the transverse bars 14. The pins 16 may be integral with rings or thimbles 17 threaded on a rod, or they may be of headed form and mounted in apertures in the carrier member 15. In a modification, Fig. 4, the carrier member is supported by a cradle comprising two bars 21 with recesses 22, the cradle members 21 resting on the bars 14 or being provided with downwardly projecting pegs for selective engagement in spaced openings in the bars 14. A number of supports may be mounted in superposed relationship, the feet of the pillars of one support engaging in recesses 24 in the bars 14, or in the cradle members 21, according to the Provisional Specification of a lower support.
