Abstract

Pesticidal, herbicidal and fungicidal compositions comprise an active ingredient and a lustrous metallic powder, e.g. aluminium, copper, copper alloys such as the various bronzes, german silver, speculum metal and brass, gold, silver, platinum, nickel, tin, lead, zinc and stainless steel, preferably containing at least 20 per cent by weight of the former and preferably from 10-15 per cent of the metallic powder. A surface-active agent or a suspending or deflocculating agent, or both surface-active agent and a suspending or deflocculating agent may also be incorporated together with a liquid or solid carrier. Specified active ingredients are sulphur, cuprous oxide, copper oxychloride, lead arsenate, copper acetylacetonate, tetramethyl thiuram sulphide, zinc ethylene bisdithiocarbamate, pyrethrum, derris, 1,1-dichloro2,2 - bis - (p - chlorophenyl) ethane, hexachlorocyclohexane containing a substantial proportion of the gamma isomer, aldrin, dieldrin, endrin, the sulphite of hexachlorobicyclo-[2.2.1] - heptene - (2) - bis - hydroxymethylene - (5,6), chlorinated 4 : 5 : 6 : 7 : 10 : 10 - hexachloro4 : 7 - endomethylene - 4 : 7 : 8 : 9 - tetrahydrophthalan, [2-(p-tertbutylphenoxy) isopropyl 2-chloroethyl sulphite] and [di-(p-chlorophenyl) methyl carbinol].
