Abstract
809,576. Printing surfaces. ADDRESSOGRAPH-MULTIGRAPH CORPORATION. Feb. 6, 1957 [Feb. 23, 1956], No. 4059/57. Class 100(2) A printing device of the kind that is sequentially passed through an addressing or like series printing machine comprises a frame formed from sheet material and has retaining members 20, 21 on one face affording a channel in which a printing pate PL may be passed to be held against the adjacent face of the frame and also against movement in a direction normal to the channel into which the plate is inserted, and retaining means on the frame at each end of the channel that are effective to retain a plate disposed in the channel against longitudinal movement. The retaining means comprise at least one yeildable tongue 25 formed in the frame, the tongue 25 having a stepped portion at the free end thereof that includes a part 30 that extends angularly upwards relative to the adjacent face of the tongue, and plate engaging abutments 26, 27 struck from the part 30 to extend away from the free end of the tongue. The abutments 26, 27 are inclined transversely of the tongue, the upper portions thereof being disposed adjacent to each other.
