Abstract

809,419. Variable resistors; mounting terminals. CHICAGO TELEPHONE SUPPLY CORPORATION. Dec. 9, 1955, No. 35481/55. Classes 37 and 38 (1). In a variable resistor comprising an annular track of resistive material secured to an insulating base connection are made to the opposite ends of the resistive track by means of terminal elements which also serve to secure the resistive track to the insulating base. The terminal elements 20 are provided with side portions 22 which pass through apertures 25 in the insulating base 6 and are then folded over to secure the tabs 8 of the resistive element 7 to the base. Conical bosses 27 formed on the contact surfaces of the terminal elements 20 engage in holes 28 in the tabs 8 thus providing improved contact between the element 7 and the terminals 20 and serving in conjunction with the holes 25 to locate the resistive element correctly.
