Abstract

808,776. Chucks. RANK CINTEL Ltd. May 10, 1957 [May 11, 1956], No. 14703/56. Class 83 (3). In a chuck comprising a body 1, having arms 2-4 carrying jaws 2<SP>1</SP>-4<SP>1</SP> and pivoted to the body at 7, the arms are rocked in a transverse plane by rotation of a plate 13 carrying pins 29-31 engaging slots 33-34 in the arms. The plate 13 is rotated about the body 1 by a worm engaging peripheral teeth thereon, the worm being rotatable by hand at 18. Each pin 29 &c., Fig. 4, is an eccentric projection on a stud 23 rotatably adjustable in plate 13 and locked by a screwed bush 26 so that the jaw positions may be varied to accommodate non-circular work.
