Abstract

A ceramic composition comprises, in percentages, plastifying aluminium silicates 3-20; alkaline earth metal or beryllium compounds 0-3; talc 0-35; and a mixture of raw magnesite and silica 42-97. Up to 10 per cent. of alkali metal compounds e.g. sodium felspar, may replace a corresponding amount of the magnesite-silica mixture.
