Abstract
807,570. Glass composition. UNITED KINGDOM ATOMIC ENERGY AUTHORITY. Aug. 28, 1957 [Sept 5, 1956], No. 27102/56. Class 56. [Also in Group XL(a)] Examples of low melting point glass containing organic phosphors in nuclear radiation detectors are firstly boracic acid, heated to form a melt at just below 200‹C. and secondly sodium dihydrogen-phosphate (6 gm.) mixed with phosphoric acid (10 c.c.) and didymium oxide (2 gms.) heated to just over 200‹C. In the latter example tungsten or samarium oxide may be used instead of the didymium oxide and caesium may replace the sodium in the phosphate.
