Abstract

806,910. Moulding spherical lumps of dough. DOMEX ENGINEERING CO. Ltd. May 23, 1955 [March 1, 1954], No. 5932/54. Class 87(2). A machine for moulding lumps of plastic material, e.g. dough, into spherical shape comprises outer and inner relatively rotatable members 19, 21, the inner member having a helical track 23 formed with a straight or convex working face. As shown the inner member is fixed and the outer member rotated by a motor 3 through a train of gears 7, 9, 13. The inner member is open at the top where it is provided with a deflecting member 28, the bottom being closed by a sloping surface 29 adjacent a lateral opening, Pieces of dough dropped into the open top of the inner member, fall onto the surface 29 and are thence elevated by the helix which moulds them to shape. The ratio of the helix angle in degrees to the outside diameter of the helix in inches is 22/13. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 710,075.
