Abstract

The invention comprises chromium complexes of dyestuffs of formula <FORM:0806668/IV (c)/1> R being a methyl, carbonamido or carbalkoxy group and the nucleus derived from anthranilic acid may be disubstituted by halogen, e.g. chlorine or bromine atoms. They may be made in conventional fashion from appropriate diazotized anthranilic acids, pyrazolones and metallizing agents. Carbomethoxy, carbethoxy and carbopropoxy are specified carboalkoxy groups for R. Anthranilic acid and its 3,4-, 3,5-, 3,6-, 4,5- and 5,6-dichloro-derivatives are specified diazo components. 1 - (21,51 - and 31,41 - dichlorophenyl) - 3 - methyl - and 1 - (21,51 - dichlorophenyl) - 3 - carbethoxy - and carboxamido - 5 - pyrazolones are specified coupling components and 1 - (21,31 -, 21,41 -, 21,61 -, 314 - and 3151 - dichlorophenyl) - 3 - carbethoxy-5-pyrazolones are also indicated. In examples chromium dyestuffs are made from certain of the above reactants and the products are used to dye wool or nylon in yellow shades.
