805,856. Mounting terminals; preventing access of moisture. STANDARD TELEPHONES & CABLES Ltd. Nov. 18, 1955 [Nov. 20, 1954], No. 33065/55. Class 38 (1). An electrolytic condenser using a liquid electrolyte 5, for example, a tantalum condenser, is sealed by an insulating plug 1 having a leadin wire 2 fixed thereto, the surface area over which the plug 1 is in contact with the casing being at least as great as the surface area over which the casing is in contact with the electrolyte. The plug is preferably of rubber and the casing may be indented as shown. In the embodiment of Fig. 3 the plug is in two parts 11, 12 and an absorbent layer 8 is inserted between the parts.
