Abstract

A micronutrient-containing fertilizer comprises an occlusion compound of urea and iodine. This compound is prepared by fusing together iodine and urear at or above the melting of urea, and in order not to loose iodine vapour at that temperature the mixture is preferably covered with a layer of urea whilst fusing. Other micronutrients, pesticides, herbicides, and growth promoting agents may be also incorporated in the malt, which may be subsequently condensed with an aldehyde to form a urea-aldehyde product containing the micronutrients.
