[Also in Group XXXVI] A mobile machine shop has an engine-driven dynamotor coupled to a welding generator, the field windings a . . . f of the dynamotor being brought out to a terminal board 18, the terminals 16 of which may be interconnected in different ways, according to the voltage required, by placing over them change-over plates such as 21, Fig. 11, with appropriately interconnected terminals which fit over terminals 16 and are secured thereto by nuts. The output terminals of board 18 are connected through a switch 71 to a second terminal board 45 of a transformer 93, from which board power may be led directly to a socket 104 for operating shop machinery, and may be applied to the primary windings 95 ... 100 of the transformer to give various single and polyphase voltages at the terminals 47, the terminals 81 ... 92, to which the primary windings are brought out, being suitably interconnected, according to the dynamotor voltage, by a change-over plate such as 46, Fig. 17, similar in construction to the dynamotor change-over plate. Corresponding change-over plates for the transformer and dynamotor are coloured alike to avoid confusion with plates appropriate to different voltages. When the machine shop is located near a power supply, such power may be fed into the socket 104 with the appropriate voltage changeover plates in position, the dynamotor being driven as a motor in this case and providing welding current from the welding generator.
