Abstract
804,001. Breast pads. ROUSSEAU, M. March 3, 1955 [March 3, 1954], No. 6342/55. Class 141 A cup-shaped pad for a brassiere is made of sponge rubber, polyurethane sponge, &c. and is shaped by cutting on a lathe so that its inner and outer surfaces are surfaces of revolution. The outer surface may be conical, Fig. 1 (not shown), or rounded, while the inner surface is part-spherical. An asymmetrical pad, Fig. 3, is formed by cutting away from the upper part of the pad shown in Fig. 2. The pad may comprise a single layer, Fig. 1 (not shown), or a number of superimposed, tapered cupshaped layers 1-4. The central parts of the layers are connected integrally or by adhesion or vulcanization or by clips, pressstuds, &c., so that one or more layers may be detached to alter the shape of the pad. The layers may lie in full contact with one another as shown, or they may be spaced apart, Fig. 4 (not shown), and the inner layers may be perforated.
