Abstract

803,862. Fire-extinguishing. LINDLEY, Ltd., H. April 6, 1956 [April 7, 1955], No. 10199/55. Class 47 [Also in Groups XXIX, XXXVII and XXXVIII] A fusible link suitable for insertion in a wire rope controlling a combined firefighting valve and alarm-bell switch as described in Specification 803,861 [Group XXIX] comprises a rod 40 retained in a tube 42 by a joint 62 of fusible material. Flanges 48, 46 on the rod and tube are engaged by internal flanges 56, 52 on nuts 54, 50 into which are screwed eye bolts 60, 58 to which the wire rope is attached. The parts are dimensioned to permit limited lateral and longitudinal movement of the flanges 46, 48 within the nuts. A hole 64 in the tube prevents the formation of an air lock when the rod is inserted or withdrawn.
