Abstract

803,103. Pulse radar. LICENTIA PATENTVERWALTUNGS G.m.b.H. Oct. 2, 1956 [Oct. 3, 1955], No. 29996/56. Class 40 (7). Pulse radar equipment 23, 24 on a ship is used to pass control signals to automatic steering unit 18 when a reflecting object is detected in an adjustable narrow sector about the ship's heading, so that the ship's course is altered to take the reflecting object out of that sector. Compass 19 is also connected to unit 18 which thereby sends control pulses to steering engine 20 of rudder 21 to hold the ship on a predetermined course. The radar detection may also initiate warning signals to the crew and to other ships.
