Abstract
800,724. Filter presses. EDWARDS & JONES, Ltd. Nov. 19, 1956 [June 2, 1956], No. 17100/56. Class 46. A filter press frame is provided with a supporting bracket 10 having two arms 11 mounted approximately vertically with inwardly and approximately horizontal cranked portions 23. Rollers 22 and 25, mounted in ball races 19 and 24 on the arms 11, are arranged to rotate about vertical and horizontal axes respectively so that the rollers engage the sides and upper face of the bottom flange of the overhead filter press girder. The overhead girder may be of I section or, as shown in the Fig. of two flanges back to back. In the latter case the flanges 27 are preferably arranged with a space 28 between them and the bracket 10 is provided with a triangular shape bracket 31, extending in front of the press frame, and having a vertical lug or pin 30 extending into the space 28 to prevent twisting of the press frame. The bracket 10 may form the actual top bar of the frame or may be attached to the frame by tie rods 33.
