Abstract
800,077. Hydraulic jacks. GULLICK, Ltd., and SEAMEN, M. E., [Representative of SEAMEN, T.]. Dec. 18, 1956 [Dec. 30, 1955], No. 37352/55. Class 78 (3). [Also in Group XXIX] A pressure fluid device for progressively stepping forward an hydraulic ram 13 consists of a piston 16 and cylinder 15. Fluid is admitted through a manually-operated valve 27 and inlet port 20 and moves the piston 16 towards the outlet 20a, thereby moving the ram piston 13. When further movement is required valve 27 is closed and valve 30 momentarily opened and piston 16 is forced back to its initial position by spring 21. On the return stroke, fluid is forced from the inlet to the outlet side of the piston 16 via a non-return valve 23 in the piston. A valve in an auxiliary inlet line 28 is provided, so that when the ram 13 meets excessive resistance, it can give by forcing fluid back into the supply main. The operation of valves 27 and 30 may be by remote control means.
