Class 108(1) Mechanism for extending the parts of a collapsible vehicle comprises several box section members 4 supported on the vehicle chassis and housing telescopic members 2, 3, 2a, 3a to which the extensible parts of the body are fixed. The member 2 is supported on rollers 13, 15 and 17 and is provided with apertures 21 forming a rack engaged by a pinion 31 and also is provided with a longitudinal slot 10 through which the pinion 32 can engage the rack 27 secured to the member 3. Thus rotation of the shaft 31 causes simultaneous extension of both members 2 and 3' and a common shaft 1 connected by worm drives to the various shaft 31 ensures uniform extension. The member 3 is supported on rollers secured inside the member 2.
