Abstract

798,551. Moulding-processes. PERRY BARR METAL CO., Ltd. April 20, 1956 [Feb. 8, 1955], No. 3666/55. Class 83 (1). Apparatus for hardening a mould or core by passing CO 2 gas through it, comprises a closurehead 5 having a flexible diaphragm 7 across its face. The head is applied to the mould or core-box 15 with the outlet-opening 10 in the diaphragm in register with the opening in the box, and gas is supplied under pressure to the head through the inlet 9, the diaphragm being thereby distended to establish close contact with the box. A pressure-sensitive switch 17 in the head controls a timing-circuit to give an operator warning when the gas has passed through the mould for a predetermined time, so that he may cut off gas flow.
