Abstract

797,880. Filter presses. KAISER, F. W. HANSEN, F. and HANSEN, E. F., [trading as HANSENS GUMMI- & PACKUNGS-WERKE P. & J. HANSEN]. Jan. 1, 1957, No. 9/57. Class 46. In a filter press comprising alternate frame elements and grooved plates of flexible material covered by a filter cloth, each grooved plate a contains a metallic reinforcing insert formed of a grid the elements of which are resistant to bending but can deform sufficiently to permit the plate to touch the next grooved plate. The grid comprises tubular bars m, m<SP>1</SP>, forming a rectangle of less height than the grooved part of the plate, diagonal bars m<SP>2</SP> and transverse struts m<SP>3</SP>, m<SP>4</SP>, all the bars being of a thickness less than half the thickness of the grooved plate which together with the frames may be made of rubber or chlorosulphonated polyethylene.
