797,818. Wheel barrows. BROWNHILLS SHEET METAL CO., Ltd., and THACKER, F. S. J. Nov. 23, 1956 [Nov. 24, 1955], No. 33659/55. Class 108(1) A wheel barrow comprises a body 13 of triangulated shape in side elevation, cradled in a frame formed from three lengths of bent tube, one of which 10 is bent, to form handles 101, a rear support 102 for the body 13 and a forwardly directed U-shaped section 103 having bearings 14 for the wheel 15, the other two lengths 11 are similar to each other and constitute the sides of the frame, each having being formed with an upward portion 111 secured to the U-shaped portion 103, and then formed at 113 to support the front of the body 13 and to provide a U-shaped rest 114 which is secured to the rear body support. The body 13 is secured to the frame by transverse clamping members 16 and 17 which are shaped to embrace the tubular frame portions. The perimeter and corners of the body are rounded and 132 are reinforcement strips. When the body 13 is correctly loaded the wheel 15 is in close proximity to the centre of gravity, reducing the effort required to wheel the barrow. When unloading, the rounded portions 112 facilitate tipping and with front end 103 form rests, if it is desired to stand the barrow on end.
