Class 108(1) A wheel barrow or the like has a body member 6 serving as a transport container with side walls 62, a front wall 61, and a rear wall 63, legs 18 and wheel brackets 10 supporting a wheel 9, all the parts 6, 18 and 10 being formed of sheet metal pressings and wherein the brackets 10 extend forwardly from the side walls of the body 6 adjacent the corners between the side walls and the rear wall, the several components being rigidly and permanently held together by suitable fastenings. The upper triangular portion 12 of the wheel brackets 10 is secured to the lower front corner of the body 6 the lower ends 13 being disposed to accommodate the wheel 9. Brackets 10 are dished at their free ends and strengthened on their inner sides by dished washers 132. The wheel spindle 91 is secured by nuts 93, the wheel bearings being non-metallic bushes or ball bearings. Legs 18 connected to the body 6 by extension portions 19 are stayed by a U-shaped member 22 and the lower ends of the legs are protected by bearer plates 21. Box section handle shafts 23 fitted with hand grips 24 have lugs 25 formed at their inner ends to facilitate attachment to the body 6. Clips 27 are provided adjacent the upper beaded edge 7 of the body to permit an extension section 28, Fig. 2 (not shown) to be fitted, strips secured to the sides of the extension co-acting with clips on the body, and displaceable clips 31 fitting over edge 7, at the front and back of the body, to hold the extension in position. Alternatively extension 28 may be formed from four plates detachably fastened one to another and to the body 6.
