796,497. Inspecting fabrics. YATES, Ltd., W. E., and WAUGH, S. Jan. 16, 1956 [Dec. 2, 1954], No. 34881/54. Class 42 (2). A cloth mending or inspecting table comprises a frame 1 on which is mounted a cloth supporting surface 2 having beneath it a transversely mounted partition 4 which prevents the cloth which has left surface 2 contacting or intermingling with the cloth still to pass over surface 2. As shown, Fig. 2, partition 4 forms one wall of a trough 4, 8 from which a cloth piece P is drawn over the inclined surface 2. Guide plates 12 guide the cloth on to the floor beneath the frame 1. The reverse side of the fabric can then be inspected by taking the end of the piece on the floor, leading it beneath the table, over the upper edge 13 of surface 2 and over surface 2 again; this time, the pivotal mounting 10 at the bottom of surface 2 is adjusted to the Fig. 4 position, so that the cloth passes back into the trough.
