Abstract

<PICT:0796247/IV (b)/1> <PICT:0796247/IV (b)/2> A length of textile material 4, Fig. 3, which is to be treated on a perforated beam 1, Fig. 1, through which treating agent passes, has strips 7 and 8 of impervious material fastened to its longitudinal edges, and a loop 19 formed at one end. Starting with the end 6, the material 4 is wound upon the beam so that the strips 7 and 8 form rolls 9 and 10. A bar 15 is then passed through the loop 19 and engaged into supports 16 carried by collars 17 rotatably adjustable on the beam. The so-formed roll 3 of material is then tightened by rotating the collars 17 which are then fixed to the beam by screws 18. The edges of the rolls 9 and 10 are then fastened down by clamps 11 to form sealing spaces 12, and the treating agent is passed through the beam.
