Abstract
795,000. Reciprocating motors. GOODMANS INDUSTRIES, Ltd. July 6, 1956 [July 6, 1955], No. 19538/55. Class 35. [Also in Group XXXIX] In a vibration generating motor having a driver coil not shown supplied with variable frequency alternating current and displaceably mounted in the air gap, usually annular, between the peripheral pole face of a permanent magnet or electromagnet not shown and the complementary pole face of a surrounding pole piece 2, at least one of the pole faces has a set of substantially circumferential grooves 1 to attach to such face a lining formed by copper plating. As shown, the grooves are in the form of a fine-pitch single-start thread and are cut at regular intervals by transverse grooves 3. To improve screening and reduce impedance the pole face may be flanked at each end by coaxial copper rings 4 electrically connected to the lining, which may be applied to both pole faces so as to form a cage virtually enclosing the coil.
