794,778. Mowing machines. MASCHINENFABRIK & EISENGRESSEREI LAUINGEN KODEL & BOHM GES. May 4, 1956 [May 5, 1955], No. 13932/56. Class 6(3). [Also in Group XXX] In agricultural machines, e.g., forage harvesters, of the kind in which the cut forage is conveyed from the cutting device, which is of considerable width, to a receiving table from which a narrower conveyer belt carries it to pressing, chopping, &c. mechanism, material is conveyed towards the centre of the table by tines 6 rotating about axes at right angles to the table which are constrained by curved members 8 to be perpendicular, or substantially perpendicular, to the direction of movement of the crop. The tines are carried by revolving cruciform members 7, the shafts 7<SP>1</SP> of which are formed with members 8<SP>1</SP>. These members slide along the guides 8. The tines pass through slots in the side walls 21 and in the walls 9 which converge towards the belt. Feed rollers 14 at each side of the belt bring the crop up to the walls 9. The pick-up tines 2 of the cropreceiving device 1 also are controlled by a guide 10 and co-operating members 10<SP>1</SP> so that they are always disposed at right angles to the direction of movement of the crop. In a modification the tines 6 are carried by a travelling chain.
