794,722. Systems of storage. STEINICKE, J. Aug. 27, 1954 [Aug. 27, 1953], No. 25011/54. Class 20(1) Receptacles, open only at the front, for storing books and the like in a room, are arranged in two rows side-by-side each receptacle being closed by the adjacent receptacle in front and are movable longitudinally and transversely of the rows, a space of the same size as a receptacle being left in the room at the front or rear of each row so that by simultaneous displacement of the two rows and lateral displacement of the end receptacles any of the receptacles can be brought to the front for inspection. As shown, a room 1, which may have a pair of doors, containing receptacles 2 with open fronts 3, each having a rear wall 4 and sides 5 and containing shelf boards, pigeon holes and the like. Spaces 6 and 7 are left at the ends of the rows. Movement of the receptacles may be automatic, e.g. it may only be necessary to press a button to bring a particular receptacle to the front.
