Abstract

794,560. Pepper mills. PARK GREEN & CO., Ltd. Jan. 18, 1957, No. 1953/57. Class 59 A pepper mill comprises a body 1 to the - lower end of which is secured a ring 7 rigid with a cutter 12 within which is disposed a cutter 14 secured to a shaft 15 which is manually rotatable by means of a cap 26, the cutters being provided with teeth 16 which limit upward movement of the cutter 14 while downward movement of the cutter 14 is limited by means of a channelled strip 17. The ring 7 has a cylindrical bore 8 terminating in an annular abutment 9 against which the cutter 12 bears, and the bore 8 is provided with diametricallyopposed vertical grooves 10, 11 which interrupt the abutment 9. The base 18 of the strip 17 extends across the lower side of the cutter 14 and through opposite notches 19, 20 in the cutter 12, and the sides 21, 22 of the strip lie in the grooves 10, 11, the ends of the strip being bent over at the top of the ring 7. The ring 7, which is preferably made of plastic material, is secured to the body 1, which is also preferably made of plastic material, by means of adhesive or by being screwed or keyed thereto.
