Abstract
794,424. Casting-processes. JUNGHANS, H. Sept. 20, 1954 [Sept. 21, 1953], No. 27167/54. Class 83 (1). In a mould for continuous-casting &c. an internal surface comprises portions 14-17 of high-magnetic-permeability alternating with portions 10-13 of high heat-conductivity, for instance, of copper or brass, the former portions being of ferromagnetic-material, such as iron, of smaller area than the latter portions and being connected to the poles 18-20 of a rotary fieldgenerator. The mould may be rectangular or hexagonal in shape, may have rounded corners, and the ferromagnetic portions 20<SP>1</SP>-23<SP>1</SP>, Fig. 6, may be in the sides instead of the corners of the mould. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 699,156.
