Abstract

793,754. Transistor oscillator circuits. STANDARD TELEPHONES & CABLES, Ltd. June 8, 1956 [June 13, 1955], No. 17801/56. Class 40 (6). A transistor oscillator circuit comprises a Zenner diode for stabilizing at least one of the bias potentials applied to the transistor. As shown, the oscillator comprises a transistor having its collector C earthed, a parallel resonant circuit between its base B and earth and a regenerative feedback path between the emitter E and a tap on the inductor of the tuned circuit. The feedback path includes a resistor 308 of such value that only just sufficient regeneration is applied. The base bias and emitter supply are obtained from a source stabilized by a Zenner diode and amplitude limiting is effected by emitter cut-off taking place during the negative peaks. The base bias may alternatively be obtained from a separate battery and a capacitor may be connected in the feedback path (Fig. 1, not shown).
