793,746. Spring suspensions for motorcycles. NSU WERKE AKT.-GES. April 10, 1956 [April 26, 1955], No. 10868/56. Class 136(3) In a motor-cycle front suspension, a spring loaded swinging wheel arm 1 disposed between the front wheel axle 3 and the sprung wheel-fork 5 is arched downwards to deflect dirt and mud thrown up from the road. Mud tends to enter through an opening 6 in the wheel fork fairing 4 and is deposited on the joint 2 where the arm 1 is articulated to the fork. To protect the joint a cowl 8 is provided which covers the joint. A drip knob 7 is provided at the lowest point of the arm 1.
