793,343. Gas burners. HETMERL. O. June 29, 1956 [Sept. 22, 1955], No. 20263/56. Class 75(1) In a gas heating appliance having a housing 6 closed by a plurality of permeable radiation burner plates disposed in juxtaposition, the plates are placed in a frame 2 detachably fixed, for example by screws, to the housing and having an encircling outer holding strip 3 and lateral supporting surfaces 4 for the plates, the arrangement being that the plates are secured between the upper edge 7 of the housing and the outer holding strip 3. The frame has partitions 5 forming four frames for four plates of which only one plate 1 is shown. The inner abutting corners of the four plates are also supported by a column 9 extending from the bottom of the burner housing. In another arrangement the frame does not have the partitions 5 and the abutting edges of the four plates are either stepped or tongued and grooved or a pin transverse to the abutting edge engages in aligned bores in the plates or a pin is disposed in registering grooves in the abutting edges. The burner has a gas injector 16 and a mixing chamber formed by a sheet metal member 10 which is semicircular in transverse section and widens in a direction away from the injector 16. The lower edges of the metal member are spaced from the bottom of the housing 6.
