792,320. Copy-turning; machine-tool details. WEBSTER & BENNETT, Ltd. March 22, 1956 [April 12, 1955], No. 10424/55. Class 83 (3). A template comprises a number of strips b, c slidable within a frame a<SP>1</SP>, a<SP>2</SP>. The left-hand strips b are wider than the right-hand strips c so that shoulders b<SP>1</SP> are formed at 'their junctions. Alternatively, the strips b, c are combined into L-shape strips. By displacing alternate blocks of strips, a template is produced which will cause a tracer to zig-zag back and forth to control, say, the cutting of a recess h in a workpiece g. If the strip-edges are bevelled, the tool f is oscillated to assist in chip-clearing. The template may be used in an electronically-controlled vertical-turning mill as described in Specification 676,474.
