Continuous-casting apparatus comprises an induction-apparatus which is disposed on the pouring-in side of the water-cooled chill 3, and consists of a ring of horeshoe-shaped transformer-laminations 2<SP>1</SP> which are open towards the chill and engage over the current-carrying conductor 1<SP>1</SP>. In a modification, the inductionapparatus has a larger diameter, the moltenmetal being poured through it. Specification 699,156 is referred to.
