A package comprises in one form, Fig. 1, a stack of polygonal, e.g., square, corrugated cardboard blanks 1 having paper covering sheets 3 secured by adhesive to opposite parallel faces, the adhesive being applied to areas of the sheets covering the end groups of blanks so that a substantial number of blanks between these end groups are not secured to the sheets. The latter may extend beyond the ends of the stack to form tabs 4 which may be gripped to facilitate their removal. The adhesive may be applied to the sheets in the form of continuous or discontinuous transverse, parallel bands each of less width than the underlying edge of the blank so that there is no tendency for the blanks to adhere to one another. Additional bands of adhesive may be applied to the centre of each sheet in the case of long stacks. In a second form, Fig. 2, the sheets 3 are adhesively secured to the underlying folded margins 5<SP>1</SP> of end covers 5, the adhesive 6 being applied to the ends of the sheets or to the exterior surfaces of the margins 51. Alteinatively, the end covers may be folded over the ends of the sheets 3, adhesive being applied to their interior surfaces. Apparatus for forming and wrapping the blanks is shown in Figs. 12 and 13 and comprises a table 12 over which a bundle of webs of corrugated cardboard 11 is fed between rollers 13. Paper webs 14, 14<SP>1</SP> are fed from supply rolls under gumming rollers 15, 15<SP>1</SP> and secured to the upper and lower surfaces of the bundle by rollers 16 co-operating with electric heaters 17. The bundle is then severed at intervals to form stacks of blanks of the required width by a transverse cutter arranged at the end of the table 12.
