788,558. Coating threads. MASCHINENFABRIK RUTI AKT.-GES. VORM. C. HONEGGER. April 6, 1955 [Sept. 22, 1954], No. 10123/55. Class 140. A sizing machine which incorporates an air dryer for treating threads has at least two guide rollers positioned between the dryer and the sizing means angularly to deflect the threads at least twice prior to the entry of the threads into the dryer, the guide rollers being mounted for relative adjustment to vary the deflection angles and being provided with an outer covering or coating which resists adhesion thereto of the sized threads. Warp threads 2 are passed through a sizing machine 1, are separated by spaced rods 3, 4, and passed between rollers 6, 7 before entering a dryer 5. The rollers are connected by bars 8 so that the deflection of the threads can be varied. To prevent adhesion the guide rollers may be coated with silicone resin, polytetrafluoroethylene or polyvinylchloride.
