Abstract

788,031. Endless conveyers. STUBBE, F. Feb. 8, 1956 [Feb. 9, 1955; Nov. 11, 1955], No. 3957/56. Class 78 (1). [Also in Groups XXIV and XXXI] A belt 1, Figs. 1 and 4, for driving belt or bucket conveyers made in sections of flexible material such as rubber with transverse driving teeth 2 along its length which may be reinforced by inserts of fabric or woven wire or may be constituted by hard rubber, synthetic plastic such as polyamide, or metal. A longitudinal cavity 3 is formed in the belt to receive a reinforcing chain 4 of short links. The belt is made up of sections joined by connecting the chain sections by half links 5, 6 clamped together by locking members 8, 9 and a bolt 11, a cover 14 closing a recess for accommodating the fastening. The teeth 2 on each side of the joint may be located by side clamps 16 and the chain may be located with respect to the belt 1 by transverse bolts passing through holes in the belt and the chain links. As applied to belt conveyers, Fig. 7, the belt 1 is secured to the conveyer belt proper 17 by screws 18 into bushes 18 moulded into the belt. In Fig. 8, buckets 26 are secured by screws 18 to the belt 1. Guide rollers 21, 23 engage surfaces 20, 22 on the belt.
