Abstract

A soap tablet is formed with a recess closed by a lamina of water-resisting material which defines a cavity whilst forming part of the outer surface of the tablet. The cavity may be of such size that the tablet floats. The lamina may be of anodized aluminium, polyethylene, cellulose acetate, celluloid, polystyrene or phenolic or amino resins. It may be outwardly dished to provide a base elevating it above a support, and is preferably provided with projections such as a marginal flange pressed into the soap around the recess. The lamina may be transparent and the recess may contain an article or markings for display. The tablet may be formed with the recess at one side by impressing an open or closed box into the soap during the moulding, the lamina being separately provided when the box is open, in which latter case the box may be constructed as a baby's rattle.
