786,822. Armoured vehicles. SCHINDEL, L. Oct. 28, 1955, No. 30847/55. Class 92 An armoured vehicle with wheels or as shown, a tank with caterpillar treads 14, 15 Fig. 4 is provided with side shields 12, 11 for protecting the treads, the side shields being vertically movable on the body of the vehicle. Each shield, which extends along the length of the tank, has apertured flanges 22, 23, Fig. 3 and is supported from the deck 16 of the tank by means of a bracket 28 and a guide rod 29 passing through the flanges 22, 23 and secured to the deck 16 and bracket 28 by nuts 30, 31. A spring 38 urges the shield downwardly. The shields are provided with shoes 37 which engage the ground when the tank passes over uneven terrain. A front shield 13 is also provided and this may be vertically movable but, as shown, is riveted to the deck 16,
