Abstract

786,445. Packaging-machines. SYNTRON CO. May 13, 1955, No. 13951/55. Class 94(1). [Also in Group XXX] A material handling device, such as a feeder bowl 23 or a device for packing and jolting paper or material in containers, is actuated by a vibratory motor 20, 21, 22 and is supported on a base 1 by arms 12, each of which is operatively connected between the base and the material container by means including a torsion bar or bars 10, 16 which is adjustable to vary the effective length of the bars. The base has clamping sockets 3 each of which consists of a notched cap 5 and a notched base 4 held together by screws 6. Each pair of notches engages a torsion bar 10 which has an arm 12 clamped to it. The upper end of each arm is clamped to a torsion bar 16 which is gripped in a socket 17 similar to the socket 3. The arms 12 can be moved along the bars 10, 16. The central part of each arm may be of reduced cross-section. '
