Abstract
The invention comprises compounds of the general formula R2NCH2CONH(CH2)nNHCOCH2NR2, wherein R2N represents a piperidino or pyrrolidino radical, and n is an integer from 2 to 6, and acid addition salts thereof, and the preparation thereof by reacting chloroacetyl chloride with the required alkylenediamine to form a bis chloroacetyl alkylenediamine which is then reacted with an excess of piperidine or pyrrolidine at least sufficient to combine with the hydrogen chloride formed. The acid addition salts may be derived from hydrochloric, hydrobromic, phosphoric, sulphuric, lactic, acetic, succinic, fumaric and malic acids. The bismethiodide salts of compounds of the above general formula are also referred to. In the examples, N, N1-bis-chloroacetylamides are prepared from chloroacetyl chloride and ethylene-, trimethylene-, tetramethylene- and hexamethylene-diamine, the second stage of the process being exemplified by the preparation of N,N1-bis-(piperidinoacetyl) ethylene diamine, N,N1 - bis - (piperidinoacetyl) trimethylene diamine and hexamethylene diamine, the bis-methiodides of which are referred to, and N,N1-bis-(pyrrolidinoacetyl) ethylene diamine and hexamethylene diamine, the bis-methiodides thereof being referred to.
