Abstract
783,353. Photographic printing on rollers. FRANK, M. June 4, 1956 [March 10, 1955], No. 7032/55. Class 98(2) The roller a to be printed is mounted on a mandrel b which is itself supported on rollers c of a pair of jacks of which only d is shown; a cover f secured at its ends to rollers g, h is passed around the roller a with a film having a pattern or design to be printed in between, roller g being carried in fixed bearings and roller h being journalled in a frame n turnable about axis o and shown in full lines when in printing position and broken lines when at an initial position, the cover f is tensioned by raising the heads of the jacks using the operating means, and in printing position the two rollers g, h are arranged to be interconnected by a train of gear wheels i, j, k, m of which i is driven by a motor (Fig. 1, not shown) and hence g, h are driven in unison to draw the cover f and pattern film in clockwise direction over the roller a and also rotate such roller, and the printing is effected during rotation by lights q shown as attached to the frame n.
