Abstract

783,201. Necklaces, bracelets, and other chain jewellery. PRESTA JEWELLERY PRODUCTS, Ltd., and GRANBY, P. H. March 9, 1956 [March 10, 1955], No. 7107/55. Class 43 Necklaces, bracelets and similar chain structures or articles of jewellery comprising a plurality of cup-shaped holders 1 interconnected by links 5 and each constructed to have a gem or stone secured within it by claws 3 at its top end are adapted to prevent the end of a link 5 from coming into contact with the bottom surface of the stone whenever the chain structure is flexed, by providing a pair of aligned apertures in the opposite walls of each holder 1, each aperture having an inwardly directed lug 4 disposed immediately above it, the ends of the connecting links 2 being inserted through the said apertures and captively located within the holders, between the bases of the latter and the lugs 4. The side walls of the cupshaped holders 1 are pierced to provide the aligned apertures for the links and each of the displaced portions of the walls is bent upwardly to form a lug 4 lying parallel to, but spaced from, the base of the holder. In order that the links may be located captively in position within their respective holders they are provided with enlarged end portions 6 formed by flattening them in known manner.
