Abstract
782,168. Frames for link mats or carpets. WHITBY & CHANDLER, Ltd. June 10, 1955 [June 11, 1954], No. 17295/54 Class 142(4) A frame for a link mat comprises members 10 of extruded or moulded rubber, synthetic rubber, or a synthetic plastic, each member having passage 17 to accommodate a metal or synthetic plastic strengthening strip 19. The strips may be screwed to the floor and riveted together at the corners of the frame. Alternatively, metal or synthetic plastic angle pieces may be used at the corners. The members 19 may be round rods accommodated in round passages 17. The inner, upper, edge 15 may be extended to overlap the mat or carpet. In a further embodiment, Fig. 7, the inside surface of two opposite members 10 of the frame have projections which lie between the end links of a mat and a wire 28 passes through the projections and the end links to secure the mat to the frame.
