[Also in Groups XXXV and XL (c)] A high-frequency filter which may be threaded on the heater leads to an oscillator mixer tube of an F.M. receiver comprises a sleeve 21 of manganese zinc ferrite coated on the outer surface with a normally earthed coating 25 of conducting material such as silver. The lead may be insulated with enamel, but if bare is soldered at 23 to an inner conducting coating 22. As the ferrite is a semi-conductor, the conducting layers may be insulated from it by lacquer 24. The loss increases with frequency.
