781,145. Releasable fastenings. AMALGAMATED WIRELESS (AUSTRALASIA) Ltd. Nov. 24, 1955 [Dec. 13, 19541, No. 33705/55. Class 44 [Also in Group XXXVI] A device, particularly for aircraft electrical systems, for detaching or engaging a coupling (not shown) on a unit 10 from a complementary coupling (not shown) on a rack 11 comprises levers 15 each of which pivots on a pin 22 fixed to a block 14 secured to unit 10, and a pin 18 secured to an arm 13 of a handle 12 and rotatable in cheeks 19 of block 14 and passing through a slot 21 in lever 15. A cam-shaped end on the pin lies in an enlarged part 25a of the slot. The unit is inserted by engaging aligning means (not shown) on the unit and rack, the handle raised, and the ends 17 of the members 15 engaged in sockets 26 in brackets 16 secured to the rack. The handle is then pressed down, the two complementary connector parts being engaged by the combined pressures of the levers 15 on the brackets 16 and the cam-shaped ends of the pins on levers 15. In withdrawing unit 10, the raising of handle 12 causes the withdrawal of ends 17 from sockets 26 by the interengagement of projections 27 and projections 28 on the arms 13 and levers 15 respectively.
