Abstract

779,397. Brushes for dynamo-electric machines. STACKPOLE CARBON CO. Oct. 19, 1955 [Nov. 16, 1954], No. 29920/55. Class 35. High-altitude brushes are provided with a section 7 of a wear-reducing adjuvent forming part of the contact surface and consisting of 25 per cent resin, 25-35 per cent graphite, and 45 per cent wear-reducing compound. Suitable compounds are lithium carbonate, molybdenum disulphide, or the halides referred to in U.S.A. Specification 2,414,514. The adjuvant may be stuck as layers on the front and back surfaces 5 of the brush, and is cured at 400-600‹ F.
