Abstract

777,230. Rotary motors. HYDRAULIC AKTIESELSKAPET. Nov. 2, 1954 [Nov. 28, 1953], No. 31657/54. Class 110 (2). [Also in Group XXIX] A motor 5, Fig. 1, having three sections 9, 10, 11, is connected to a non-reversible pump. P through a circuit incorporating a relief valve 7, a check valve 8, a manually-controlled valve 3 and a pressure-responsive control device 20, as shown. The valve 3 includes check valves 31, 57, 61 and a manually-operable slide valve which controls ports 34, 36, 37 arranged in the circuit as shown, the port 34 being in permanent communication with the port 33. The device 20 is a three-way valve which connects the feed conduit 14 with the branch conduits 21 or 19 when the pressure is less than or exceeds a given value respectively. The arrangement is such that at top and intermediate speeds all the pressure fluid is passed through a single motor section or two sections respectively, the valve 3 being disposed as in Figs. 2 and 3 (not shown) respectively. Again, at slow speed, part of the pressure fluid passes through the circuit in Fig. 4 (not shown), whilst at stop all pressure fluid passes through the circuit in Fig. 5 (not shown). Controlled lowering is effected with all circuits in throttled communication with the discharge (see Fig. 6 (not shown), and reversa is effected with all the pressure fluid being fed in the opposite direction through a single motor circuit (see Fig. 7, not shown). In a modification, an additional motor, Fig. 10, is connected in the circuit of the device described above as in Fig. 9 (not shown), and is brought into operation under the control of a pressureresponsive valve 81. The motor incorporates three chambers 204, 205, 206 having individual inlets 207, 208, 209 respectively, a common outlet 210 for two chambers and a separate outlet 211 for the third chamber. The inlet chamber 102 of the valve 81 may communicate with either its outlet chamber 103 or the feed conduit 80 according to the setting of the valve proper 111.
