Abstract
1493991 Valves SUNDSTRAND CORP 18 April 1975 [22 April 1974] 16127/75 Heading F2V In a pressure regulating valve for a directional control valve a plunger 32 is moved against a spring-loading 37 by the pressure differential in chambers 46, 47, which are connected respectively to the operative work port of the directional control valve and an inlet 40 via passages 54, 52 and 56. The plunger moves to control flow from the inlet 40 to a by-pass passage 42 and a passage 39 connected to the inlet of the directional control valve. A signal passage 23<SP>1</SP>, which connects with the operative work port of the directional control valve, a passage 45, a ball check valve 73 and passages 65, 68 connect with the chamber 46 to allow unrestricted flow thereinto. A check valve 63 has a notch (82) in its end bearing against its seat 69 to allow restricted flow from chamber 46 to exhaust port 43 and to damp pressure fluctuations during normal regulating movements of the plunger, the check valve being movable off its seat by higher pressures in chamber 46 to allow unrestricted flow to exhaust port 43. A pressure relief valve 85 is operative to exhaust chamber 46 at still higher pressures. The restricted flow to the port 43 from chamber 46 may be through a "leaky" end of plunger 32 or a restriction therethrough. An adjustable stop 50 limits the maximum flow from the inlet 40 to the port 39.
